Winter 2017 lego sets release date

This NASA Apollo Saturn V set looks amazing because it’s not just the rocket: it’s an entire Apollo mission in a box. We’re already itching to get our hands on it. Today, Lego announced a new set that looks like it’ll be the best of them all: a Saturn V rocket. The company first released its Space line of sets in 1978, and since then, fans have built hundreds of different spaceships, real and fictional. I guess a Candy Shop wouldn't make sense, if candy is "illegal" in the modular world (based on the Detective's Office).Lego is no stranger to space toys. Also, a Health Club/Gym, Dentist's Office, Toy Store, Pharmacy, or Ice Cream Parlor are other ideas. Also, a Veterinary Hospital (although the Pet Shop covers the animal side of things) would be cool.

Other thoughts, not on your list would be a restaurant row (maybe a side by side like the Pet Shop and Apartment Building) - one side a Japanese restaurant and the other a pizza place. I would personally like to see a post office, as many of the modular buildings have mailboxes built into them, and it would make sense to "connect" with that feature. If you're going to include a religious building (and I really don't see Lego doing this), you'll have to include a temple, mosque, etc.

I think a Police Station makes sense, but there is already a lot of police themed lego pieces in the Creator series (plus cops aren't really getting too much love these days). Maybe because Lego has it in mind to make those types of buildings next? Also on Lego Ideas, a train station received 10,000 votes and is in the review process (although if approved, that probably wouldn't be available until 2018). Recently, modular sets for a Library and Natural History Museum were shot down on. It's hard to say what the new piece for 2017 will be. I'm agree with you Seamus, a post office is a good idea! also i think a museum would be a cool addition. I think the church would be to controversial due to the nature of religious groups feeling they may not be represented in a set, so I would assume they would not make a church building unless there were one for all of the major religions. The real challenge comes when you start designing the interior - all of those little details and making them fit together can be overwhelming.Įven if these ideas here don't inspire you to begin your own Lego modular creation, they are cool to look at, aren't they! And hopefully, Lego will continue introducing a new modular building every year so we can all keep building the kits and adding to our fun and realistic looking Lego towns. Simply begin with a board and create the bottom shape (you can copy from another modular if you like) then keep building up adding doors, windows, etc. So, what do you think - ready to design and build your own Lego modular? Assuming you have enough pieces, it is not as hard as it looks - at least to build the exterior of a building. Lego obviously took my advice (and that of others) for each set has continued to improve in that department - Assembly Square, in my humble opinion, being the best design yet!Ī quick Google search for "Lego Modulars" or "Custom Lego Modulars" will reveal hundreds of these custom modular buildings ranging from museums to schools however, here are shown a couple of our favorite (we have done our best to give credit to the original designer when possible).

The details are absolutely stunning! I was one of the original Cafe Corner builders who called Lego to let them know that while I really appreciated the exterior details, I felt that the interior needed to be decorated as well.

Contains 4,002 pieces!Ĭan you believe that Lego Modulars has been around for 10 years now? They have! The Corner Cafe was first released in 2007 and now Lego has just announced their new model for 2017, Assembly Square (set # 10255), which marks 10 years of modular Lego building! For this auspicious occasion, Lego has gone all out in creating one of the most elaborate modulars yet - a fact which the piece count of 4,002 pieces attests to! That's almost twice as many pieces as the original Cafe Corner! Unfortunately, the higher price puts this one out of my budget but if you can get your hands on one you will be in for a treat - as the above photos show! Not only is there a ground floor bakery, florist’s shop and café, but a middle-level music store, photo studio and dental office, AND an upper-level dance studio and apartment with a rooftop terrace for barbecuing. 1 / 8 Lego Assembly Square - Coming January 2017.
